@rushdacote made the point of kids having to register at other schools. I’m sure some would be happy to make that happen regardless, but ones that take their academics more seriously might not be able to.

They have 30 days to enter the transfer portal, but they don’t get immediately eligible to play this season. And no school is going to let a kid start mid-semester in October.

Best case they get to start at a new school next semester and can begin practicing and playing in late December, if they even find a spot. And who knows what kind of playing time you’d get joining an established team mid-season?

Doubt our roster will get gutted before the season starts, but wouldn’t bet against a mass exodus after the season.

This close to the start of the season, I’d be surprised. Also possible player retention was factored into this. Maybe? If we’re working with the setting up Ron part.

I would be shocked if anyone transfers before season begins. That’s not generally how locker rooms work, unless someone just really, really doesn’t get along with the next HC. All bets are off for after the season, however.

I am selfish and super sad to be reading all this…CTB is still fairly young for coaching and was hoping to see him make another run…and make me super proud to be fan and alumni as far as our basketball team is concerned…good for him if he is no longer in it…bad for me as I doubt we see anyone on our sideline that comes close to his greatness…

I’m young and TB is all I have known for basektball. What he led this team to is truly legendary, and whatever is causing him to retire I do wish him the absolutely best. He will forever be a legend. Best of luck to everyone in the program.
