Transfer tracking

When Joe Harris committed, we were not a good program lol.

We all need a moment here- we won the National title 2 years ago, when current recruits were 15-16.

Tony is evolving. Works the transfer market extensively. Sometimes things don’t work out with players and that is ok. Going to have to wait a bit to see who transfers in to make any real determination

I’m just worried I’m going to wake up tomorrow morning and see CavMan announcing he is in the transfer portal. :frowning:

If we are lucky the new jerseys will join the transfer portal ASAP

Effectiveness I addressed not. Enjoyability to practice and to play I addressed.
And without the off the court college activities, I feel it really affected some Hoos … just was more of a grind to have practice be a grind and life off the court be non existent.

Oh I totally agree with you. Coach Bennett has grown a ton as a coach since he took the job. The past few years he’s adapted his offense for example.

I was specifically replying to the post above mine (I must’ve hit the wrong reply button) laughing at the idea of changing things because we’ve had a decade of success, and citing changing values of players over the years and maybe they don’t enjoy running our current systems so recruiting may be more difficult in the future if there’s no evolution in the program.

Boo this man. The defense is extremely fun for me.

Edit: I can see that he was booed. Good work.

Losing McKoy sucks; but in fairness, I did make a 2019 deal with the devil: ā€œGive me a Natty and I’ll agree to not winning another NCAA tournament game for the next four years.ā€ The devil did his part, now it’s payment time……

Was a good trade.

Gardner talked to the NC State 247 site about his zoom. Said it was phenomenal, with the entire staff, and was shown how he’d be used at a high volume. Hope we left an equally positive impression

Maybe he can transfer to UVa after NCSU goes 16-12 and Kevin Keats gets fired lmao

Used at high volume? Nope. Tony showed him what he needed to work on. Write him off.

We joke but this is what worries me some. In this year’s free transfer environment most kids are gonna want to show out and get their shots at the new school. The Kevin Keats of the world will promise that in spades, Tony won’t

Kevin Keatts is a winner

I’m sorry, what?

Kevin Keats is winner-ish. He’s not not a winner. He’s winner-adjacent.

I feel like he did better before going to NC State.

It’s a meme guys. Don’t remember how it started but it’s been an ongoing joke for a few years now. Tate picked up on it at some point and says it on Titus and Tate frequently, for example.

I got you. It’s been on CBB reddit forever. That and that fantastic line about any game Indiana has, win or lose, being a fantastic Indiana win, just like they drew it up.

Gotta at least hope that on average transfers are a little less susceptible to obviously misleading sales pitches than high school recruits. They’ve been through the process once already, and some are transferring precisely because of those former promises not panning out. Although there might also be a good number that never got pursued by all the big boys before and might enjoy getting to experience it.
