Trevor Keels Announces Final 3

How about if it happens in 3 days?

:eyes: so connecting the dots here (while trying not to anger the recruitment gods) with the news above, even if Murray’s commitment goes in our way, it wouldn’t be a bad sign with TK?

Might be Stanford. Another prospect of theirs also set a commitment date and someone asked if that meant they weren’t getting taine. Their insider said that prospect isn’t headed to stanford. With Ingram set to decide soon to Stanford as well, might be related? Hopefully not

Wouldn’t surprise me if Keels knows where he’s going (cause) and now Taine can move forward (effect).

Lol I wish that would mean Keels is headed here (maybe) but I think it’s more he was going to commit a few weeks back but Tony got him to at least delay the commitment and think on it. But now time has passed and it’s time to commit early somewhere still.

If it is Stanford, would be one hell of a recruiting summer for them. 5* Zaire Williams, 5* Isa Silva, 5* Harrison Ingram (many predict), and Top 40 Taine Murray (probably where he will rank once committed)

As many stated, it was looking like Stanford a few weeks ago but UVA has since righted the ship. I would not be surprised to have to eat some crow on Sunday.

If there wasn’t a girlfriend at Stanford, I would feel really strong with Murray. Virginia just makes too much since here. Having said that, I share a lot of hope here.

I mean I know the GF factor is important, BUT I imagine he and his parents have the bigger basketball picture in mind (pro development). Maybe they think he can get that at Stanford, maybe not

Stanford has produced NBA talent in the past. That along with the new and improved coach, a projected first rounder this year, the recent recruiting haul, being several hour flight closer to home, and Stanford being such a prestigious internationally recognized school couldn’t hurt.

Foresthoo, I agree. I think the familiarity with Penney, Bennett’s connections in New Zealand, current roster, Salt, our proven development of wings, and Offensive scheme familiarity / style of play all should make us hard to beat if not for the girlfriend.

I would give Stanford the edge regarding academics, location, and campus. However, my gut says this will come down to basketball development.

I’m thinking Stanford just based on the announcement time. He could have chosen a normal hour for everyone if he wanted.

Didn’t even think of that. Well…might be strike one

What time is the announcement? I see 2:30pm but what time zone is that?

It’s 2:30 am Sunday East Coast time

Well this is the problem when you post the way he did. He’s trying to copy the American kids I think but leaves out steps. lol First you post a time, then you tease with the countdown clock.

Anyway I think it’s 2am Sat night/Sun morning our time which would be 6pm Sunday in NZ.

So this decision probably isn’t connected with knowing something about Keels I would guess.

I assume the UVa coaches will know his decision before the announcement? Is that how it typically works?

Yeah UVA probably knows by now. They keep it tight tho. As far as I know and people this morning are backing it up, they don’t know anything more about Keels today than yesterday or three days ago for that matter.
