Yeah say what you want about Casey but he has been much better in a Wolfpack jersey than he ever was as a Hoo.

Respectfully, no, it’s not it. That team lacked leadership all year - they got destroyed by any good team they played before reeling off wins in a thoroughly mediocre ACC. And as you said, our best players wilted in the biggest moment of the season. That’s even OK - that happens - Kyle couldn’t hit squat for a good chunk of the 2019 tournament. The problem was Tony just had them keep running the same stuff over and over and over again, thinking eventually we’d revert to average. But Huff and Hauser just kept missing over and over again.
It’s easy to say as an outsider - I know that - but I do not understand why we didn’t change it up. Reece and Casey were actually shooting well and none of Ohio’s guards were more athletic than them. Ohio also lacked size inside. Reece and Casey should have been attacking the hoop and Jay going for offensive boards, instead of running the same stuff time and time again.
If Tony has a fatal flaw, it’s that while he will adjust defensively and make some adjustments on offense, he really likes to stay with what he’s comfortable with on the offensive side and just keep banging on the same thing hoping that if we just keep executing it right, eventually it’ll work like it did all season. But in a single elimination tourney environment, that doesn’t always work. We should not have lost that game, even with Huff and Hauser being in slumps. At least that’s my view of it.

Someone, after the season, needs to show Bennett some of the threads from during the season. He needs to laugh and walk away. For a guy who built the program, he becomes more of an idiot as each game passes from what I see.
This season hasn’t been the norm but when he goes, it very well could become what happens year in and out.

Tony is one of the best coaches in the country. No doubt. Wouldn’t change him for anyone else. But it’s a message board and we aren’t playing well for a multitude of reasons. We’re allowed to discuss it. The whole reason this sport exists and coaches get paid millions and millions of dollars is because of our fanatical interest in it. People should obviously be respectful, but fans can discuss things. Even if I critique his choice, I will be devastated when he hangs it up and still think of him as one of my absolute favorite people.

Made even worse by the fact that our starters played almost the entire game in a major blowout is the fact that we have a very short turnaround. Would’ve been the perfect game to let the green team get run in the second half

Every multi-year winning streak shall be broken. All progress shall regress. All the young guys shall never play.
Gonna be a test for our program. Is this just a bump in the road? What if the 22’ class goes as badly as ‘20 did?
This might be the new normal. I’m being overdramatic on purpose but…
