Brady only appeared in two games this year and didnāt record any stats. Not sure if he was hurt, or just couldnāt crack the depth chart. Looks like he has his degree, which is awesome for him. Hope he finds a great landing spot.

Yeah I donāt want to be harsh but so far most of the guys who have entered were pretty much just roster spots. Donāt blame them for going elsewhere and weāve got an opportunity to really improve our depth/top end talent in the portal with some of these schollies coming open.

Pretty much, at the end of the day it is a business and it seems like most of the guys who are leaving will likely have a chance to land somewhere they can get some run. Love the opportunity to get some depth and just quality guys back into the mix.

You know whatās amazing? Jordan McCloud graduated high school in 2018 and heāll he playing college football in 2024 and itās no big deal that is 7 seasons in college. Also in his class and playing next year is Cam Rising. I mean, hereās some names from the 2018 entering class, some guys are going to play next year, some guys finished this year, some guys are NFL vets already, some NFL rookies and some guys are long forgotten.
This is why every QB is in the transfer portal, you got like 3-4 dozen guys clogging up the starting QB pipeline for 6 years between the 17-18-19 classes.

Same class as Jimmy Christ, gut punch to lose out on both of them. That said, looks like in four years he couldnāt crack the starting lineup, only finally even seeing some backup time this year. Not sure heās going to be the right choice for us right now.

Man I remember him. Thought he was going to be the rock for the line for years to come. Looks like it never materialized for him out west. But he could be a piece.
Will trust Heff on this as the guy who coached him for two years. Still, expect itās not the direction we go.

I would think that unless we expect Muskett or AC to transfer out, we wouldnāt be looking for a transfer QB. You never know what the coaches are thinking though. I mean if it is Arch Manning thatās a very different matter, heād fill seats and get ratings.
OL, WR, TE and everything on defense is where Iād think our interest lies.

Considering that they just landed another qb recruit Iād say no. Unless like you said some rando really wants in at cville. But 2 seasoned vets a first yr and an unproven guy thatās about as much depth as you can ask for

Correct me if Iām wrong but we only have 2 QBs on the roster for next year right now, right? AC and Muskett? The new commit, Greer, is a 2025. Minter in the 24 class is more of an athlete I thought? Bottom line, maybe not ruling out another QB right away.

I think the staff definitely wants to add another QB in the 2024 class. Been pursuing Jared Hollins out of Alabama pretty hard and we just offered Dookās 4 star QB commit Tyler Cherry.

I wouldnāt mind adding a grad transfer QB for depth in the portal but also understand that would be an incredibly hard pitch for the staff to make to someone considering that we have two known commodities already on our depth chart.

Youāre right not sure why I had Greer as a 24. In that case bringing in a 24 or a portal guy makes sense.
We definitely need the QB depth chart to be more than an injury prone Muskett, a skinny Colandrea, the guy we put in to run the tush push, the walk on holder and a raw true freshman.
Probably ideally a guy with 2 seasons left and completely comfortable being a veteran backup/mentor that you can break out in case of an emergency.
Unfortunately this aint the NFL and Virginia not exactly a destination so those type of guys arenāt knocking down the door to come in.
