Weāll probably need to keep winning games but if we do (and they do) I think weāll see Gameday return to Cville for the UNC game.
Yea but thats cause Fresh will be in town. Yawn
Nice write up by Patrick Stevens, who is usually pretty accurate with his final bracket projections. He has Virginia as the 10-seed in the Midwest at the moment.
Compares this yearās team to the 2020 squad.
I feel like this group has way more offensive upside than 2020. Outside of Woldo sometimes, that group just wasnāt good on the perimeter. Weāve got several on this team capable of knocking them down, Reece can get to the basket without getting blocked, and this group can be pretty efficient on offense when clicking. That rarely happened with the 2020 groupā¦felt like every game was a 50-48 rock fight.
Can we go with the electoral college?

The 2020 squad only scored > 65 points twice all season (73 pts in a loss at Louisville, 68 in a win vs BC). This team has done it 10x already. Their defense was definitely more dominant but the offense was way, way worse. We have two of the best shooters in the league on our team. We didnāt really have a single shooter in 2020.
Iām confused- does that have us on the 12 seed line with a play in game against Cincinnati?
Yeah our offense is much better than 2020 in general and especially as of late.
For the last 4 games we are sitting at top 50 offense. And since the Wake loss we are around 90 nationally. Overall respectable, with room for improvement.
In 2020, we were 215th from Jan. 1 until end of the season. Showed improvement in February, but that meant playing like the 175th best offense. Woof.
a play in game against Cincinnati would be my super bowl

Iām not the worldās biggest Kihei fan, but calling him a āworld-halting pathogenā seems a bit harsh.
I applaud the extra effort to (ahem ātuā) misspell Rohde by that much.
Woldo shot 38% from 3 and Huff 37% from 3 in Acc games that year.
Simply not great as your 2 best shooters
This caused me to look up 2020 shooting stats.
Casey was 15 of 85 from 3. That is so unbelievably terrible. I honestly think he could have made more just pulling up from half court.
Classic Morsell is hitting a clutch 3 against VT to take a late lead in Cassell. Then next possession airballing a 3 from the exact same spot lol.
He had no muscle memory in his shot form
it looked deliberate to me after a point.
Not that it changes your essential point, but our best three-point shooter in 2019-2020 was Kihei, at 38%. Woldo and Huff both shot about 36%.
