We are always VTs Super Bowl. Toughest away game every season imo bc they are little brother and know it
The graph appears that we fell off a cliff and are now dragging our crippled body to the other side.
Some might say âturn the cornerâ but I interpret as âclawing our way to impending doomâ.
(I need a serious break from this site btw)
Looks like Torvik has 12-8 as our most likely ACC record. Followed by 11-9, 13-7, and then 10-10
Littlejohnâs?

I would say it appears as though the following players have turned the corner or were already contributing at a high rate: Beeks, IMac, Minor, Taine, Dunn, Groves.
The following players have yet to reach the corner and may not this season: Rohde, Bond, Eli
The following players may still get there:
Harris, Blake
Maybe/maybe not. From time to time we had better teams than Carolina and Duke and still would get beaten in the Dean Dome and in Cameron.
Iâd say both of them are settling into solid reserve roles. Not that there isnât room for continuous improvement with both, but Iâm feeling ok with the trajectory I see them on.
Harris has shown a unique ability on our team to get into the lane and free up outside shooters or drop off to a Big. He canât shoot a lick (form is as ugly as you will see for a guard) but if he will just focus on finding his mates and finishing the occasional open layup he will play a meaningful role for us.
Brief Virginia reference with the hedge. But the stat breakdown intrigued me more in terms of understanding part of how we have been more effective with Minor starting at the 5 and Dunn establishing his role at the 3 spot. Pick n roll offensive efficiency
FunnyâŚwhen my son & I were watching last night, I said to him that Harris definitely has a role. I just donât want him shooting unless itâs an easy layup after he beats his man.
Though Houston is also a good example how teams can affect the math; teams are hitting the roller in the video and the roller canât do anything because he suddenly has a guy flying towards him and arms everywhere in the passing lane.
I think when the hard hedge is at itâs best for us, we end up taking away the roller most of the time with good activity; but we werenât able to do that this season when the hedge was at its worst.
Need familiarity and longed arm dudes who can move their feet fast. Even if not the best offensive producers. Houstonâs front court takes me back to the Akil/Atkins days (and what Dunn has shown as well and what maliq brown will give us next season )
Agreed. Iâm glad our big man recruiting has shifted more towards agile guys and less of the massive dudes who are relatively slow-footed. Houstonâs frontcourt arenât 5-stars either; Tugler was highest rated on 247 at #69, Francis came in at #144, Roberts at #225, but all are just perfect stylistic fits for their scheme.
Right? Someone commented recently (Kyle Mann?) that they just have an assembly line of those dudes. But I was reading somewhere else (Sperber?) that they are just okay with running bad offensive lineups to make it work. Which is why I alway feel like their teams have a bit of a ceiling.
Tonyâs generally been able to get better talent than Sampson has
Yeah, they always play two of those three together and those guys have collectively attempted 2 threes on the year.
I guess my takeaway is that maybe we should just double-down on defensive identity in the frontcourt. Tony the GM may like having a stretch 4 on the roster, but Tony the coach gets second thoughts about their defensive aptitude and I think would be happier having a long athlete there.
That can work if you have bucket getting shot creators at guard. Best recipe in the college game really. Dudes up front and mfrs at guard. Like the Baylor team that won it all. Easier said than put together of course haha
