Sooooooo bliss mallory developed Leon Cofie Robinson
I think one of the bigs has to have the ability to at the very least score consistently off pick and rolls in order to reach that title ceiling. We had Mamadi, UConn had Sanogo and Clingan, Baylor had JTT, Kansas had McCormack, etc. Elite level guard play definitely gets you far in March but you also gotta have a guy who can get you a tough bucket in the post when needed too.
Yeah. I think we can kinda get away with worse defenders on the perimeter IF we have some dudes up front to clean up mistakes. Maybe with one good point-of-attack perimeter defender. My formula would be:
Offensive roles:
Guard: Bucket-getter (shot creator)
Guard: Table-setter (playmaker)
Guard: Movement shooter (good off screens)
Forward: Garbage points guy (cuts, offensive rebounds)
Forward: Screen and roll/Rim-runner
Defensive roles:
Guard: Point of attack defender
Guard x2: Help defender/Will be in the right spots in the pack line
Forward: Athletic rim protector, a little quicker than the other guy (Zay, RD)
Forward: Also athletic rim protector, a little bigger than the other guy (but still mobile; more Blake than Sheds)
My bet would be that it would be easier for me to find forwards who can do the job defensively if they donāt need to be super skilled on offense as well; great if I can find that guy but that profile is often a lottery pick. And then if I find guys who can play multiple of the roles, thatās when we have final 4 upside.
Win tomorrow: turned THE corner
Lose tomorrow by a little : turned a corner
Lose tomorrow by a lot: no corners have been turned
Canāt wait to put this on a t-shirt for our final 4 run in a couple years
Reece!! Representing that LRA drip
What is JA referring to - social media posts by fans? Responding to something specific?
Hes proly just bored
This is only slightly elevated Al Groh ādonāt question the pilotā BS. Cmon Justin. Thanks for LRA, but you can figure this one out on your own.
I think it was just a poor attempt at āTrust the Process.ā
And that worked out perfectly. (I guess it kinda did, but they just canāt get over the hump)
I really want a high energy, bouncy 4 that can go like 30% from three.
Like Tre King on ISU.
Get london Jemison and have both
Easily the best JWilly interview Iāve heard. What a good man. Having grown up in Richmond, I enjoyed hearing stories about his early days playing bball.
I donāt know what the next 5 weeks or so will hold, but am I crazy to think this is turning into one of TBās better coaching jobs?
Our bigs are a true freshman, a mid major transfer, and a 5th year specialist who (by UVa standards) came here as pretty pedestrian on defense. One of our key wings is also a mid major transfer and our backup PG might lose a game of H-O-R-S-E to a good middle school shooter.
Worst best LOL.
Took a few blowouts to realize āHey we are breaking down defensively and everyone is scrambling. Maybe we should simplify thing to help build confidenceā And with confidence the O is more confident to help overcome some of the breakdowns.
Im just happy Tony isnāt as stubborn as I thought he was (still damn stubborn but able to change some).
That and Christian Bliss give me hope we can get back to 2014-2019 for one more ride. Of course 5th year Reece expedites that
