I think Elijah grabbed a tough rebound in maybe his 3rd possession ever. We have guys playing 25 minutes per that get no rebounds some games

Is not what was discussed. @fuhoo simply said he doesnt get why Eli cant play PG. Someone else posted his TO to assist ratio after from small and fairly random sample size

Why is all the talk about Eli and about how Christian Bliss, on one ankle, would be average 40 pts 20 assists a game?

The reality is the mentality and confidence level of as a fresh getting a small amount of minutes knowing he js going to be pulled at the first mistake is going to, in most cases, produce sporadic statsālike more toās than assists, etc. Itās not until there is a certain comfort and confidence that comes with more playing time that, typically, youāll see normalized results/stats for the respective player. I think everyone agrees Eliās upside is about 10x Harris. Personally, i would like to see him settle into a role and get comfortable asap. Not to mention the lack of confidence and comfort in a program now causes knee jerk transfer decisions from kids like Eli. Itās hard to question TB but canāt see how it isnāt best for both the near term and long term success of the program (during eliās time in the program) to get Eli on the court asap.
Because itās a Fan Forum/Message Board that solely exists for speculation and opinion. Thatās what itās for and it often educates me, and always entertains me (and others I presume). Seeing things from a different perspective and engaging in respectful debate is the whole point of Forum.
For instance, I contend that if CTB was 6ā8ā he would have had a long career in the NBA, and probably be living in Florida.

Give Eli 10+ mins and you will see something you have rarely seen a UVA guard do. Every time. He is electric.

I donāt mind āplayer y should play moreā discussions in general but the details around this team have made the Elijah one very annoying imo. Weāve won 9 of 10 since going to the current 9 man rotation. We are in good shape to make the tournament after our chances looked dire during the 6 games before this streak. Iām grateful for the stability of the last month after the āTony hasnāt figured out what the hell to do with this teamās rotations but at least Elijah and Leon are getting some chancesā that preceded it

Update on feelings regarding this topic and Blissā foot which should be healed by summer:
Does UVA need to add a guard if Reece is gone?
- No. Roll with Bliss McKneely Rohde Gertrude Taine Bond Dante
- Yes. We need a point guard to ease in Bliss with the foot injury/as insurance since trust with Dante is low.
- Yes. We need a scoring guard rather than just banking on Rohde becoming more assertive and Gertrude figuring out the 3pt shooting/tigher handles

This poll is in the context of the possibility of both Erik Reynolds at St Joeās (Bullis alum) and Sean Pedulla among others being in the portal this offseason. Reynolds will probably get a bag but a local kid and I remember hgn saying Bullis coach is a die hard UVA fan.
I think the situations where Yes is actually in play all make me sad, so I refuse to vote it.

I donāt think we āneedā anything but there is a positive āyesā scenario. Which is: if we could be really good if we add more of an alpha, experienced combo guard type, then itād be good.
I feel like next year is more of a bridge year, so wouldnāt be too bad if we stood pat, and went hard after the portal the year following.

I think the problem with the ānoā answer is that Harris is inevitably going to play significantly more minutes than anyone wants in that case. I just find it very hard to believe Bliss will be ready for 33+ minutes per game and I seriously doubt Tony is going to go with āRohde, iMac, Gertrudeā or āRohde, iMac, Taineā lineups for anything beyond a minute or two here or there.

TB would pull his hair out with how much Pedulla hogs the ball and gets beat off the dribble. I would take him over Harris too but thereās probably 20-30 portal guards Iād take before Pedulla.

I donāt think Tony would want any part of Pedulla (and likewise, I imagine). Much too loose with the ball and weak defensively. But, not to worry. Pedulla will go somewhere else.
