What is the *importance of the Cali- Classic if it is important at all?
Also what is it? I donât think Iâve ever heard of it. Is it like an AAU tourney for Gleaguers?
Itâs just a different summer league tourney, much shorter than the one in Vegas.
A few years ago, there were a bunch of them: Orlando, Utah, Cali, and Vegas. But this year, I think itâs just Vegas and the California Classic.
Gotcha that makes sense. Another opportunity for guys to get a look
Unfortunately, with the addition of Porter & Bjelica, GSW is carrying 13 guaranteed and 4 non-guaranteed contracts. Dubs would have to clear some deadwood for KG to have any kind of realistic shot at making the roster.
At least itâs an audition. If he does well, someone can find a place for him. But a tough spot. Clearly a good g-leaguer. Needs to prove he can hang around on the end of a roster.
Warriors on ESPN2 now. Hopefully KG gets some run but heâs not starting. I wanna see him cook Davion Mitchell at some point lol
Is he in the roster? Thought he was only playing the Las Vegas summer league?
Oh my bad yeah youâre right, missed that part of the original post
KG is not playing in the California Classic, only in the Vegas summer league.
I forgot too. I tuned into the game to watch KG, whoops.
I watched some of "Lakers "vs âheatâ itâs a tough watch. Not great basketball on display. Not having a tie to either team ir any players made it near unwatchable
Tobey and Luka in the Olympic semifinal on NBC Sports network right now!
Tobey putting in work
Wow, what an ending. Painfully close for Tobey and Slovenia
23 points for Tobey to lead the team though!
Great finish. Thought we were going to see Tobey with the winning basket when he got that miss-match down low.
He was great down the stretch. Great box out of Gobert for the final defensive play and then cleared the lane for that potential game-winner.
So used to Tobey wilting under pressure. He played strong down the stretch.
Tobeyâs hands are so much better than during his time in college. He has definitely put in the work. Have to think if he wants a shot in the League he can have it. Something to be said for a nice long career in Europe though. Slovenia doesnât make it this far without him. Happy for Mike!
That was my first thought watching him during the Olympics. His hands are so much better from when I last saw him. Itâs really impressive he looks like a totally different player now than he did at JPJ. Happy for him. That was a great finish to a fun game.
Canât imagine Luka is gonna be pleased going from playing with Tobey to the shell of Porzingis that is currently on the Mavs
