Hmm, looking at the roster it looks like only Cam, Sam and London Clarkson are completely out of eligibility. Thatās still 3 of our tallest players though. I wonder how many of the girls among Mir, Lauterbach, Lawson and Smith come back for their Covid year and how many decide to use it at another school and how many move on to their next stage in life.

If either or both of Mir/Lauterbach come back, thatād be huge. I had been thinking weād lose them both (assuming Mir plays this year), but I forgot the covid year was still a thing.

Itād be nice to get Lauterbach back because she is indeed super tall and sheās made huge strides in her game this season, but Iām doubtful sheāll be a big piece of the puzzle.
Sheās just such an odd combination of traits. Sheās giant but she very much doesnāt seem rugged, 1/3 of her shots this season have come from 3 and sheās shooting better from there than from 2 (though poorly from both). Sheās also hit 85% of her FTs over the last 3 seasons. Likeā¦ what?

Yea, I did not know what Lauterbach was going to be when they signed her in the offseason. But I donāt think sheās a big piece of the future if she comes back.
I feel like the Hoos either need a big who is a rumbler who can do all the rebounding and be a reliable option to dump it into the post, or they go the other direction and get a true stretch 5 who can spot up and hit the 3 in transition. Thereās really no room for inbetween which is where Lauterbach falls.

I donāt disagree with either of you guys about Lauterbach. If not for our every-game foul trouble, she might not be seeing the floor much this year. But weāll desperately need bodies up front after losing Sam/Cam/London. So if she wants to stay, Iād definitely want to keep her.

Great to see Cam (apparently) focusing on not fouling. Effectively ceded a bucket on that baseline rather than get too aggressive.
