But in all seriousness, it seemed like last night was where he elevated himself from âgreat shooterâ to leader on the court and a guy that can be the alpha on a team. Just so much confidence.
Aaaaaand he is only a second year
Do we have the plus minus from yesterdayâs game?
Love how he and Reece!! Looked at each other and started laughing. Fun azz group
Ya, official Virginia Sports websites posts them. Hereâs last nights:

Despite BBâs +/-, we donât win without him spelling so many Minor foul trouble mins. He battled like crazy. Heâs going to be special in his out years.
Speaking of foul trouble, I was pretty surprised to not see Leon Bond get even a couple minutes last night. But mid February rotations do tighten, I guess⌠just thought he couldâve provided some defensive help.
We also donât win that game without Rohdeâs contributions. Loved that he saw a few go through the net, just needs to decisively get the ball on the backboard a little quicker on one or two of those drives. Looked like he was in slow motion looking around for a dump off after he drew the defenders
Thats a great foto of St Andrews though
Hahah itâs all good I work with a bunch of 20 somethings so Iâm hip. Itâs like a GDog with a fly tip.
And yes I agree with your original premise he has leveled up. And just in time for this team.
Huge game for Rohde mentally. He was really in his own head you could see it. Last night was great for him
Yeah I would have liked to see him as well. With both Minor and Dunn out, we needed some toughness in the defensive paint. Potentially taking some of Rohde or Taine minutes at the three.
The officiating was absolutely terrible (huge caveat), but FSU was bullying their way against some of our guys. But again, maybe it doesnât matter because the officiating crew was what it was and all possessions end in free throws either way.
Yeah I wouldâve like to see him as a change up option, I think he wouldâve done well against most of their drives. Wouldâve liked to have seen him on Jackson some.
I agree, though I read it as a vote of no-confidence in his ability to dribble under pressure. I think itâs probably why Taine only got 9 minutes; he can drive an open lane or by a close out, but he is less good at trying to get by a guy pressed up on him.
@DFresh11 made a similar point last week: Leon developing his handle is probably more important than his 3pt shooting for unlocking his game.
Even tho it was a shot clock violation on first possession, thought Rohde making one from deep was big for his confidence.
With the way IMac & Groves are shooting, if things start clicking for Rohde, look out. We could make a legit run, especially not being able to sag off of Reece or Murray.
Rohde actually handled the pressure surprisingly well, especially given his earlier struggles against (thinking about against State).
Also I donât think I ever saw it mentioned but there was one possession where Rohde got into the lane only for Taine to run in from the corner and clog it up. Resulted in nothing for us. Sometimes those things drive me crazy not just singling him out.
Yup he doesnât take the 2nd or 3rd attempt if that first one doesnât drop.
Happy cake day @ReasFordHoo. Appreciate you hanging out with us!
