Virginia vs. Florida (11/10/23) 7pm EST ACC Network

All of that I agree with. Just don’t look it when that discussions and laughter turns to hatred towards CA.

Exactly how I saw it.

Nothing he can do as a commentator can undo what he did for us as a player, he was great. I really blame the refs for more not sticking with their call. They shouldn’t be paying attention to the broadcast and it’s not a good look for them.

It did look like it changed direction off Blake’s fingers after it hit the FL player’s knee.

Agree all around be mad at a wishy washy ref

I think we can all agree that it was not officiated well.

Five turnovers vs. a longer, more athletic team that pressed us all game.

Ryan Freaking Dunn had more steals himself than eight UVa players turned it over all game.

That’s awesome.

Well, I didnt. I just wanted to see Tony yell at him as I thought it was really funny and unique. Cory was a great player, but I said earlier that he overcompensates to try and seem neutral. It’s not necessary. I’m not hating on him. I don’t think you are calling me out but if you are it’s misplaced.

Imagine if Jay Bilas spoke to the refs during a Duke game to positively or negatively impact Duke. The outcry would be extraordinary… First of all, the refs shouldn’t listen to anything an announcer says to them and secondly, an announcer should NOT advise the referees.

I had UF as my “other” team for the Elite 8 prediction so I’m pretty ecstatic about the win.

UF has a couple of future NBA guys and a high impact transfer. May not be elite 8, but definite tournament team. Sort of remind me of last year”s Illinois.

Good win.

On another note, I wanted to wake the thread: Are we hedging differently? It looks different to me. We used to hedge (in my mind I picture Papi and Jack and Jay) and then get back in the paint. I feel that BB was hedging (and maybe others) but then switching at times? Maybe we aren’t executing like we would in the past or maybe our dudes are more athletic? Let me know your thoughts.

Having a big that can just get to the line at will is sooo nice

Just as long as he can make around 70%. Shot it much better down the stretch than earlier in the game.

Ended up 10/16I think and more importantly he was 5/6 down the stretch.

What are we, anyway? Fucking Dukies who demand an apology from the league office when we don’t get the blown calls we’re entitled to? Florida got the ball, CORRECTLY, even though the refs screwed up twice in a row beforehand, and we STILL came back and won the game by virtue of superior grit and mental toughness–which makes the call itself mercifully irrelevant. Bitter Gators got their chance to win and they didn’t, so they now have no excuse to relitigate the last minute of the game (as Auburn fans have been doing since 2019).

WE WON ANYWAY! CELEBRATE, YOU MFERS!

From my vantage point, the ref initiated and I had a good location to hear the entire interaction. Nothing nefarious to me. Very surprised to see this being such a topic on the boards after getting back home. Was responding to this on another board stunned by the vitriol. Even checked out the replay now to see if i missed something and i don’t think i did.

Tony’s or ours?

Last thought from me for now: too bad it’s become the story, rather than a good W, but anyone doing the “why is this the story?” thing. I mean, cmon.

Cory screwed up. Refs screwed up. We all screw up. But it’s fine. Life goes on. Have a good night.

I don’t think there was enough, even in Cory’s dumbass view to overturn the refs original call.

Ha, I don’t think Cory has a seat at the Bennetts’ Thanksgiving table this year.

So just watched TB’s press conference, post game. My 2 favorites:

  1. When asked about Groves, TB laughed at first and responded “Well….we need to work on his dunking game”.

  2. TB gave a “no comment” when pressed on specifics about the Cory incident, but did point out that when he lost his cool, it was Dunn that calmed him down and said “Don’t worry about it….next play coach”. Love that attitude from a young player.
