That was bothering me the whole broadcast. At first I waiting for you to stop by the broadcast to share some wisdom. Nope, just some second tier play by play dude.

Hopefully, but probably not, my last post on Cory-gate, upon a rewatch:
- Refs come over to check the TV monitor of their own volition, not at Coryās urging (despite how Cory himself later described it, oddly). Apparently this is a thing. I did not know this, and maybe itās more common at NBA arenas that donāt have the right specialized replay equipment or whatever (since the nba does this from Secaucus)
- my biggest remaining issue is that when Refs are sitting in front of him watching his monitor, heās confidently telling them exactly what happened and exactly what theyāre watching (even though others watching donāt really know what happened, fog of war and what not)
- Cory later says that refs asked him if they got it right ā¦ but ā¦ Huh? Anyone want to relisten to the audio and find where that happened? And this is what I think pumped up the anger
- Normally mild-mannered Tony flips the heck out, and us idiot message board posters flip the heck out āto be clear, THE EXACT SAME REACTION ā yet somehow Iām still reading posts that say Tonyās reaction was fine, but us message board idiots are idiots. The mental contortions to do this are somethingā¦
- Anyway, Iāve spilled way too many words on this silliness. So I look forward to sharing my bad opinions on the game.
- Parting thought: with about 6 minutes of game time, you have a very close, very good game between two very good teams. And Cory is STILL doing his ACC bottom feeder blowout banter. Heās a very good announcer. If he wants to become better, He needs to learn to step back and let the game be the star, rather than always be inserting himself.

Watching the 5 minute highlights: I am actually not concerned about play making because outside that stretch where Reece/Mckneely got Groves/Buchanan going in the 2nd half, our two best stretches of basketball were in the first half (early and to also end the first half) when Reece was out and Dante/Rohde were running the team. They probably defer a little too much to Reece when heās on the floor (like how Reece deferred to Kihei) but they were confident and strong.
Also is an encouraging sign for next year with Dante/Rohde leading the team as they grow this season. Of course Reece is a GOAT and his absence will be a crater.

Man I am so giddy after last nightās game. We have so much room to grow but thatās the point; we can grow. We arenāt predetermined with a āwe know what we haveā to begin the season. So many young players getting minutes to grow and get better.

Can we discuss Reece going into takeover mode at the end? Two straight crunch time possessions he didnāt even make a pass. Just took his man off the dribble early in the shotclock. Didnāt convert the 2nd but I loved the aggressiveness.
Weāve seen passive guard play for too long. Itās Reece Beekmanās team

Youāve summed up my thoughts perfectly. Havent even scratched the surface of what this team can do, but most importantly itās very evident that we have legit TALENT to work with. Raw talent for sure but we arenāt wasting many minutes on low upside players

The reset season is exactly what the team and the fanbase needed. Itās a breath of fresh air and i couldnāt be more excited to see where this group ends up. Oh the places they will go

Youāre driving home from the game with your wife in the passenger seat. Youāre driving too fast and pass a cop. He pulls you over. He says Iām pretty sure you were speeding but my radar malfunctioned so Iāll let you off with a warning. As heās walking away, your wife calls out to him to come back. She explains she was looking at your speedometer and you were going 85 mph. The cop then writes you a ticket. Later she claims the cop asked for her opinion and that she didnāt initiate that conversation. Would anyone just shrug it off with your wife in either scenario?

I always kick myself for looking ahead to future seasons instead of focusing on what our team is right now, but man that 2024 core looks so good.
Dante/IMac/Rohde/Bond/Buchanan/Gertrude/Bliss/Robinson/Sharma/Cofie/Taine, and that doesnāt even include Dunn who is still a maybe on going to the draft or any transfers we bring in. Dangerous squad right there.
