This will be an under mentioned factor going into next week. So much was put into this game. Now that it’s done, can coach keep the boys rolling? It’s easy to have a letdown the week after a win like that. I’m honestly very happy Louisville came back against Pitt so our guys still have to face an undefeated team.
@CaptainThurman15 yeah that was a nightmare.
They beat us so bad they let their backup kicker kick extra points and the few times they punted in the fourth qtr was their back up. Their fullback outran our entire defensive backfield en route to a touchdown.
If I remember, the weather was pretty crappy, and the whole affair was so disgusting that we left after Clemson took a 24-0 lead. I lived at U-Heights and it took me about 15 minutes to walk back to my apartment. By the time I got home and turned on the TV, Clemson had scored another 10 points.
I have to be honest. The last thought on my mind at that point was, “Hey, I think this could be the start of something great.”
The uniforms last night were only about 100,000,000% better than that crap the team wears now. Those unis had character.
It will be interesting to see if the team can follow up this win at Louisville.
Everything was better back in the day. Kids these days can’t even stop FSU on the goal line in regulation. Have to wait until 2OT and even then it’s only an incomplete pass on 4th and goal.
They had a roller coaster day today which makes me feel better. Hope it wore them out.
It’s already house money with what we did last night but if we could pull off a win down there ![]()

Fair enough. I was definitely too drunk to think deep thoughts that night. And after the season, we did joke about what a great job Welsh did in doubling our win total from the previous year—to two. But I did have a lot of optimism for the next season. It really seemed like the team was buying into the program.
Told the folks at Mincers that if they sold those jerseys, they’d sell out in record time. Said they had heard that all weekend
And we have a bye after Louisville. Losing by no means cancels out the FSU game, but I hate coming into bye week after a L. Win and you have ALL the momentum and are favored in every remaining game
By the law of transitive properties, Jonas Sanker is better at football than Josh Allen.

Hoos are ranked 24th in the AP poll.
Are we officially back?!?!?!
Depends on your definition of back. We have a good to very good competitive team right now, if they go into Louisville and beat the cardinals I’ll start expecting more than that. 8-4 pop tart bowl still my goal for them, they win this game and come away from it healthy they’d have a real chance of something special (for UVA).
First time back in top 25 since when, who knows ?
2019
Right, should have remembered that. Thanks!
Win and see Miami in the championship??? Have to take care of the other teams of course!
Win and leave healthy and that becomes a realistic possibility. For me right now I have this one a toss up (lean to the bad) and then I have them going 2-1 in the trio of Cal, Duke and Tech. Give myself some cushion for another loss in that trio, would be 8-4.
Is this finally the year where we get to have the “will football or men’s basketball finish their season ranked higher” discussion?
I can get behind that, but don’t want to jinx us!
