This is hilarious. Who knew Ron Wellman disease was contagious?
Geez only Wake could whiff on this
Then again. Coaching searches are always good drama. Everybody has sources. Throw enough names out there, somebody’s bound to be right.
Elijah Weaver is transferring. Not that I would expect us to pursue but we were on him a few years ago
As expected…
No a surprise. But I wonder what the process will be like now with the pre-draft process all jacked up. Huff is going to miss out on hands on evaluation experience that Diakie got.
99-100% chance he will withdraw his name before June 3rd? What do you guys think?
I think that’s too high if only for the weirdness that the virus brings
I agree 95% or better he’s on grounds next year. I can’t see him staying in the draft unless he gets some exceptional feedback.
I imagine the NBA draft is going to take a similar pattern as the NFL draft and when in doubt teams will lean towards more known commodities. With Huff, you got a kid with a ton of unknowns thanks to a limited sample size. And without being able to work him out in person there’s an added layer of risk.
I think this is key. I believe the pre-draft feedback and experience for Mamadi played a huge role in his continued Improvement during his senior season. I’m afraid Jay is going to miss out on that. I think it would have been very valuable for him as it was for Mamadi.
Speaking of…Is Mamadi still placed at mid 70s and predicted to go undrafted? We had a hell of a run to end the season…one of the best in the country, and he definitely was a big part of that. Hoping it gives him a boost.
Great question. I haven’t seen any updated draft predictions they usually wait until about this time of year for the final underclassmen to declare. He’s another one that’s going to be hurt by not doing in-person workouts. Seeing him upclose and what he can do in an open offense would have benifitted him.
I’ve been seeing his name in everywhere from the 40s to undrafted
I think that while the combine and work-outs would definitely help Mamadi get into a better position draft wise, that he will still have a long Pro career…his game (especially improved outside shooting) translates well to the NBA…so much more space…
I honestly believe he is one of the best defensive players in the country, NBA included. With his athleticism and improved outside shot I feel good about his chances
Future NBA DPOY in his sight?
That would be an amazing accomplishment
