Yeah he’s been mentioning McClung’s transfer for a while. He’s gotten most stuff right. There were a couple deleted tweets though. lol You can tell they’re grassroots people who don’t quite get the target audience.

Wow! I liked Purdue Coach Painter UNTIL I read that article. There was no need for Painter to say those comments about Haarms. Especially suggesting that while Haarms got his degree from Purdue that he is not a Boilermaker to transfer from the program. Totally rude. I get why these players left as beat out by other players. But totally disrespectful for the coach to be bashing these players as they exit (especially Haarms who has his degree and played a big role in Purdue’s 2019 elite 8 run)…

Will Soderberg get a look for the Green Bay opening?
I don’t know. That’s a weird firing at Green Bay. Must be something a little scandalous behind it. Sodey has said UVA is the only “big time” college basketball job he would consider. I don’t know if that means power conference or all of D1. Remember when UVA hired him he was living happily in obscurity as the head coach at a D2 school in St. Louis.

Not Keels saying anything, but that twitter account said a few weeks back he was going to commit soon. Then he blew that up by saying he wasn’t close to a decision

Local story on the Green Bay opening.
While sources confirmed Grzesk and Johnson at least have expressed interest in the opening, it’s not known whether Soderberg or his representatives have reached out to UWGB.
Soderberg played for Dick Bennett at UW-Stevens Point from 1982 to 1984 and was an assistant under him at Wisconsin. Tony Bennett hired him to be an assistant at Virginia in 2015.
If he wants the UWGB job, it’s going to come with a pay cut.
Virginia’s most recent salary data showed he was paid $311,819 in 2018-19.

That’s surprising, he seemed to be in line for major minutes as one of like four front court players on the team. They are super super thin in the front court now, and all their bigs are new (though Aluma came along with the coach).

Hypothetically, if Soderberg were to get the Green Bay job…who takes his place? And I don’t even know if he’s interested. Just something I was thinking about.
Both Kyle Getter and Kirk Penney are overqualified staffers we’re extremely lucky to have. They’d both have to be considered to start.

I’ll give Mac credit. I thought the decision to transfer was odd. He’s the man at Georgetown, leaving is risky. Texas Tech is a direction I didn’t expect at all. Tells you he’s serious about improving his shortcomings.

I had the same thought TT is a great landing place. Chris Beard has a proven success record with developing transfers. I’m not sure what’s up with GT but it’s a program under duress and Mac made the right move for his development.
