Wow

This team has been really good at blowing out the teams they’re supposed to blow out. (And also blowing out some of the ones they’re not supposed to blow out, lol.)

McKenna Dale has at least 3 steals in the last 5 minutes… and several rebounds along with her points barrage.

Love this team

Yeah I felt like I jinxed her with my comment as she only scored 2 points after that, but she was still filling up the stats sheet, including a Beekman Special steal-and-sprint.

Apparently that tied her career high (at Brown) and Clarkson and Pauley also scored career highs.

Even against a bad opponent, more than doubling them is solid work.

Forgot to mention the announcers said UVa committed ZERO fouls in the second half… how is that even possible?

They wore Michigan jerseys?

Pauley doesn’t exactly look like an NCAA high major player, but love her confidence as a FR and she’s fun to watch.

Will be interested to see how this team performs against ranked ACC teams, but they look very good right now.

12/4 NET Rankings:

7 - NC State
8 - VT
9 - Notre Dame
11 - UNC
17 - Duke
25 - VIRGINIA

Also our best win is at Penn State (#48).

The rubber hits the road soon… I expect we will come down to earth a bit as we hit the buzz saw that is the ACC (shouldn’t we be saying this about the men’s ACC as well?)… but overall there really isn’t any downside to them losing some games in Mox’s first year… she already has buy-in from top to bottom.

So if the ladies go .500 in ACC play, is an NCAAT bid feasible, if a couple of those ACC wins are against ranked opponents?

Just looked back. Our women in 92-93 started out 11-0 and we the dudes started 11-0. 22-0 start may be an record. Maybe CT has done better

Possible depends on who the wins are against. The ACC is loaded this year so .500 means they likely knock off 1 top 10 team and probably 2 top 25s… In that scenario it would be similar to last year’s men’s team and come down to who did they lose to and how?

There really aren’t any bad teams in the ACC … worst is BC at 106 in NET.

If this team could get to 9-9 in the ACC (currently 1-0), 11-0 in the noncon, so 20-9 overall with necessarily some good ACC wins in there… sounds like an NCAA tourney resume. 19-10 (8-10 ACC)? Less so.

9 wins feels high but not crazy high. Even as an underdog you win a few.

Well, we’re still not ranked. Or we’re 33rd if you count the “also receiving votes”. And we won’t be able to do anything to impress anyone until we play Duke on the 21st. That’s fine. Still undefeated! Still massively exceeding all expectations.

100%. The ACC for women’s hoops is a buzzsaw the likes of which the mens’ used to be. At one point, 40% of UVA’s ACC games were against top 20 teams. UVA going .500 in the ACC, and winning the last 2 OOC games (and UVA should be heavily favored in both) is a 20-9 record. Should be good for at least a 10-seed and Coach Mox should cruise to ACC CotY and be a serious contender for national CotY.

Edit - Checked again, 7 of UVA’s 18 ACC games are against top-10 teams. So, 39%.
